Hard at Work on Backstage Pass, Mixing Live to Tape for the Editors! |
|
| On the left (hover over the word "Links") are links to 3 Episodes of Backstage Pass, a program produced by PBS affiliate WKAR in East Lansing, Michigan. In the "Best Of Season 3" show, I was credited with Audio Remastering. However since I supervised the multi-track audio recording, consulted with the Live Studio (FOH) Mixer and Mixed the final audio for the Broadcast Programs for Season 3, Re-Recording Mixer or Sound Designer would be more accurate titles! No matter what you want to call it, it was an honor to be a part of this nationally distributed, award winning show.

For the Verve Pipe Show, I reunited with my old friends (I recorded and mixed a record for Donny Brown's "Water for the Pool" band in 1992, and had mixed TVP live on a few occasions before they were famous!). This was from my first year working with BSP, when I was the Live Studio (FOH) Engineer for all of their in studio tapings. I also ran monitors for the bands and crafted a 'scratch' mix (live to tape) for later editing.

The Lash (Link #3) are sentimental favorites of mine. I've worked with these guys on numerous occasions over the years, mostly mixing them live from raucous St. Patrick's Day parties in the pub to the prestigious Wheatland Music Festival. It was very cool to see them walk in for a taping, and an absolute BLAST to mix thier zany brand of 'Celtic Mayhem' for broadcast!
